The short version: We collect what we need to run HouseholdOS for you, and nothing more. We never sell your data, we don't show ads, and we give you the tools to export or delete everything. Children get extra protection.
This Privacy Policy explains how Pcnaid Inc. ("we", "us") collects, uses and protects information when you use HouseholdOS (the "Service"). We've tried to write it like humans, for humans.
1. What we collect
- Account information — your name, email address and the sign-in details handled by our authentication provider.
- Household content — the things you create in the Service: tasks, chores, events, budgets, bills, inventory items, meals, documents and similar records.
- Usage & device data — basic information about how you use the Service (pages viewed, features used, approximate region, browser and device type) to keep it working and improve it.
- Support messages — anything you send us through the contact form or by email.
2. How we use it
- To provide, secure and operate the Service and your household.
- To send you reminders, notifications and important account or service messages.
- To understand which features help, fix problems, and make HouseholdOS better.
- To respond to your questions and provide support.
- To comply with the law and protect the safety of our users and the Service.
We do not use your household content to sell advertising, and we never sell your personal information.
3. Children's privacy
HouseholdOS is designed to be used by families, which means children may be members of a household. Child members are added and managed by a parent, guardian or responsible adult, who controls what each child can see and do. We collect the minimum needed to provide a child's chores-and-rewards experience, we never show advertising to children, and we never sell children's information. A parent or guardian can review, export or delete a child's data at any time by contacting us or using the in-app controls.
4. How we share information
We share information only in these limited ways:
- Within your household — content is visible to other members according to the roles and permissions you set.
- Service providers — trusted companies that help us run the Service, under contract and only as needed. These include cloud infrastructure (Cloudflare and Microsoft Azure), authentication, transactional email (Resend), and privacy-respecting product analytics and error monitoring (PostHog and Sentry).
- Legal reasons — when required by law, or to protect the rights, safety and security of our users, the public or Pcnaid.
- Business transfers — if Pcnaid is involved in a merger or acquisition, information may transfer as part of that deal, subject to this Policy.
5. Cookies & analytics
We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences (like light or dark mode), and understand aggregate usage. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site ad tracking.
6. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. When you delete content or your account, we delete the associated data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain limited information to comply with the law or resolve disputes.
7. Security
We protect your data with encryption in transit, access controls, role-based permissions and a secure vault for sensitive records. No system is perfectly secure, but we take safeguarding your household's information seriously and design the Service with that responsibility in mind.
8. Your rights & choices
- Access & export — you can access and export your household's data at any time.
- Correction & deletion — you can edit your information and delete content or your whole account.
- Communication preferences — you control which reminders and notifications you receive.
- Depending on where you live (for example, under GDPR or the CCPA), you may have additional rights, including to object to or restrict certain processing. Contact us and we'll help.
9. International data transfers
We operate globally and may process and store information in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where we transfer data across borders, we take steps to protect it consistent with this Policy and applicable law.
10. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, let you know. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Policy.
